Air Conditioning Questions, Answered Straight
How much does home air conditioning cost in Doncaster?
A single-room Economy installation starts from £1,195 fully fitted, with Standard from £1,495, Mid-Range from £1,795 and Premium from £2,145. Multi-room systems start from £2,640 for two rooms and scale with the number and size of rooms. The quickest way to get your figure is our

cost guide. Prices include 0% VAT on qualifying domestic installations.
Does air conditioning heat as well as cool?
Yes — the systems we install are air-to-air heat pumps, so they provide efficient heating in winter as well as cooling in summer. Many of our customers choose air conditioning primarily as a cost-effective heating upgrade, with summer cooling as the bonus.
Are your engineers qualified to install air conditioning?
Yes. Air conditioning contains refrigerant, which by law must be handled by F-Gas certified engineers — and ours are. Your system is installed, pressure-tested, leak-checked and commissioned correctly, which also keeps the manufacturer's warranty valid. DIY installation isn't an option for these systems.
How long does installation take?
A single wall-mounted unit is typically installed within a day. Multi-room systems usually take one to three days depending on the number of units and how the pipework routes through your property. We'll confirm timings before we start, and we work tidily around you.
Which brands do you install?
We fit and service leading manufacturers including Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Daikin, Hitachi, Panasonic, Samsung and Toshiba. Our tiers range from the Fujitsu ECO KL Series at Economy level up to the Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-EF Zen and MSZ-LN ranges at Premium — we'll always recommend the right unit for the space and your budget.
What does air conditioning cost to run?
Modern inverter systems are very efficient. As a rough guide, a small split unit draws around 0.6–1.6 kWh while actively cooling, which at typical electricity tariffs works out at roughly 20–40p per hour — and it throttles right down once the room reaches temperature. Higher-efficiency units, like those in our Mid-Range and Premium tiers, cost less to run over time.
Do I need planning permission?
In most cases no — a standard domestic outdoor unit is usually covered under permitted development. Extra rules can apply if your property is listed, sits in a conservation area, or the unit would be within one metre of a boundary or on a flat roof. If you're unsure, check with the council before booking; we're happy to advise on placement.
Do I need outdoor space?
Yes — every system needs an outdoor condenser unit, usually mounted on an external wall or placed at ground level on brackets or a base. If you're not sure whether your outdoor space works, give us a call on 01302 438009 and we'll talk through the options for your property.
Do you offer servicing and aftercare?
Yes. Regular servicing keeps your system running efficiently, protects the manufacturer's warranty and catches small issues before they become big ones. See our
servicing & maintenance page — we look after the systems we install with ongoing local aftercare.
